Award for the Best Lotus Notes 8 Composite Application
Houten, 21 January 2008 – e-office, specialist in optimizing digital working environments for professionals, has been awarded with a Lotus Award for ‘The Best IBM Lotus Notes 8 Composite Application’ during the Lotusphere congress in Orlando.
Composite applications are a business kind of ‘mashups’. Mashups are a Web 2.0 technology where various applications or information resources are combined into one service for the user. The value of mashups is that content can be combined and re-used within several applications, which brings the developing period back to a minimum.

IBM's composite application- technology enables fast combinations of business applications, ad-hoc applications, collaboration tools and productivity templates, in such a way that all information is supplied tailor-made for a specific user and his role within the organization. With this the composite application also becomes the front-end of a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA).

The price was granted to e-office based on the practical business value of the application and the convenience of integrating it with other applications and solutions. Furthermore the jury was impressed with the ability of the application to rise the effectiveness of the user organization as well.
